Reading James Ellroy’s Black Dahlia has been kind of a trouble for me. It seems to be going on and on about Bucky Bleichart and occasionally Lee Blanchard and I seem to find myself getting tired of them. The back of the book says these characters will be “driven by dark deeds” to uncover the Black Dahlia mystery, but it has not even been MENTIONED yet.
I don’t know if it was just the end of semester work or the fact that it was Thanksgiving break, but I am not feelong this book right now. Hopefully the characters don’t become too dark that I have to struggle to finish it, but a little more darkness couldn’t hurt!
